How to copy a product from another Shopify store to your store

Updated 10/27/2026

Short answer: Shopify lets you import products with a CSV file (Products, Import). You need a CSV file in Shopify's column format with the title, images, variants, price and description of the product you want to copy. You can type that file yourself, or use a tool that reads the product page and exports a CSV.

Steps to do it by hand

  1. Open the original product page and copy the title, description, price, compare-at price and the name of each variant.
  2. Download the product images or copy the image links.
  3. Download Shopify's sample CSV file, fill in one row per variant and put the image links in the image column.
  4. In Shopify admin: Products, Import, choose the file, click Import products. Products arrive as drafts so you can check them before selling.
