Scan returns no videos

Updated 11/02/2026 · screenshots from app version 0.6.5

This article helps you find the reason a scan returned no videos, and how to handle each case.

  1. Open the “Keyword scan” tab and look at the computer’s status line in the scan box.
  2. Look at the text next to each keyword in the scan run’s list.
  3. Compare with the table below and follow the “What to do” column.

The computer couldn’t scan

You seeReasonWhat to do
“Keyword scanning is only available in the SpyWinAds app.”You are opening SpyWinAds in a web browser.Open the app on your computer and scan in the app. If you don’t have the app, download the app.
“The scanner is not connected.” or “Haven’t heard from your computer”The app is not open, or you haven’t logged in in the app.Open the SpyWinAds app and log in.
“Computer is off” or “Computer not responding for … minutes.”The computer is off, asleep, or the app has been quit.Open the app. The remaining keywords resume scanning by themselves. If you don’t want to scan anymore, click “Skip the rest”.
“Facebook is limiting the network”Facebook is temporarily blocking your home network.Just let the app run; it resumes scanning at the time shown on screen. See When Facebook temporarily blocks the network.
“Your network seems to go through a VPN or a cloud server”A network going through a VPN is more likely to be blocked by Facebook.Turn off the VPN.
“This computer has already been used for a trial with another account.”Each computer can only use the free trial once.Upgrade your plan to keep scanning on this computer.
The app stops scanning and the web shows the plan selection screenThe 7-day trial has ended.Choose a plan to keep scanning. See Plans and limits.
“Stopped”You clicked “Stop”.Keywords that weren’t scanned stay in the basket. Click “Scan new batch” to keep scanning.

Keyword scanned but nothing found

An empty result comes in two different kinds:

You seeReasonWhat to do
Keyword says “no ads”Facebook’s Ad Library says no ads match this keyword in the US. The keyword is too narrow, or not in English.Try a broader keyword, in English. Or change “Search type” to “Loose words”.
Keyword says “couldn’t scan”The Ad Library page returned no results. The app has already rescanned several times with the same outcome. This does not mean the keyword has no ads.Add the keyword back to the basket and scan again later.

There are ads but no video went into a tab

The scan box says “No video from this run has entered a tab yet.” The keyword still has ads, but no video meets the conditions yet.

  • A video is only dug deeper when: the video file first went up to Meta no more than 30 days ago, it has more than 20 ads (Old + Win + Scale), and it has a sales link. Only after the dig is it considered for a tab.
  • Click “View results” to see every video with a sales link from the run, or open the “Scanned videos” tab.
  • Check the “Market” line in the scan basket: Media should be “Video”. If you choose “Image”, the scan has no videos.
  • Try another niche, or get keywords from AI dig, Pinterest Trends, Google Trends.

The numbers in the app are ad signals, not sales or profit. A keyword that produces no video in a tab only means the Ad Library doesn’t yet have a strong enough signal for that keyword.
