How to copy a product from another Shopify store to your store
Updated 10/27/2026
Short answer: Shopify lets you import products with a CSV file (Products, Import). You need a CSV file in Shopify's column format with the title, images, variants, price and description of the product you want to copy. You can type that file yourself, or use a tool that reads the product page and exports a CSV.
Steps to do it by hand
- Open the original product page and copy the title, description, price, compare-at price and the name of each variant.
- Download the product images or copy the image links.
- Download Shopify's sample CSV file, fill in one row per variant and put the image links in the image column.
- In Shopify admin: Products, Import, choose the file, click Import products. Products arrive as drafts so you can check them before selling.
Before you sell
- Copyright: product data is public, but the images and description may belong to the original shop. Take your own photos and rewrite the description before running big ad campaigns.
- Pick the right product: copying is easy; picking a product worth copying is the hard part. Check how many shops are running video ads for that product before you copy it.
- Product page shows Unavailable: open the product in Shopify, go to the sales channels section and tick Online Store.
