Mac asks for the microphone: click Don't Allow
While the app scans videos, macOS may show the box “SpyWinAds” would like to access the microphone. Click Don't Allow.
- SpyWinAds never records audio or uses the microphone. macOS asks on its own because the app opens ad videos to fingerprint them.
- After you click Don't Allow, the app scans fully as usual.
- Don't leave the box waiting: while it is open, videos can't load and scanning slows right down.
After each new version, macOS may ask once more. Click Don't Allow and you're done.
Clicked OK by mistake
No problem, the app still works. To turn it off: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → switch off SpyWinAds.
